LJO Student’s Behaviour Policy
LJO Schools promote appropriate social and learning behaviours and have clear expectations of our students and staff. Good behaviour is an equally important outcome of a quality educational process.
That includes teaching the consequences of both positive, appropriate behaviour and negative, inappropriate behaviour. We do encourage students to act and
speak with respect, listen to the Teachers/staff, be kind to others, be mindful of how their behaviour affects others, treat other people the way they would like to be treated, always tell the truth, attend school regularly, focus on task, play
safely and cultivate other positive attributes. LJO Schools does not tolerate bullying in any form. We foster kindness, gentleness and tolerance of each other.
The students are also expected to be respectful of the properties of LJO schools and as well as the properties of other people.
When inappropriate behaviour occurs, the teachers verbally correct the children. If the behaviour persists, the child may be punished e.g cleaning, sweeping or go to time out. If the bad behaviour continues after the time out, the child will be sent to the HeadMistress or Director. The next step is to write the parents for a conference meeting with the school HeadMistress or Director. If all these fail and the child refuses to change the bad behaviour, the child will be expelled from school as a last resort.
