ABOUT DR. EVARISTA NNADI

Dr. Evarista Nnadi Enwegbara, is a daughter of Sister Lucy James Oguanobi (LJO) and Late Christopher Nnadi. she was raised by a mother who was a devoted Catholic. LJO was a genuine champion for education and healthcare; a fierce protector and defender of the poor and a voice for the voiceless, the oppressed and battered women. LJO sent her four children, all girls to United States of American for their education and the best opportunity for her daughters.

Dr Evarista Nnadi Enwegbara left Nigeria, with the goal of pursuing a degree in Medicine. While in USA, She earned a B.S. degree in Biology and Chemistry, became a registered Medical Technologist after one year of Clinical Internship. Subsequently, she entered graduate school and earned a Masters Degree in Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. She entered into Mayo Medical School and graduated in 1990 with Doctor of Medicine (M.D) degree. She did her Residency in Family Medicine at Duke University Medical Center. In her final year of Residency, she became a Chief Resident and took on more responsibilities and Leadership roles. She completed her Residency in 1993 and did her Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology from 1993-1994. She has been working as a Family Physician since 1994. She participates in Medical Missions providing free medical care to the people of Ihiala and also promoting quality education.

In 1994, Dr Nnadi Enwegbara incorporated Lucy O’Charity Inc, a non profit corporation named after her mother with one of the goals of providing Ihiala additional opportunity to access quality education. Lucy O’Charity Inc, built LJO schools in Ihiala, Anambra State, Nigeria. Thus, achieving Dr. Nnadi Enwegbara’s vision that quality education is critical for the future of children, especially girls.

She encourages everyone to join hands in providing equality education to all children in the villages, especially to those who are poor and less privileged. There are so much work to be done and many children to reach out to. Please donate what ever you can. Any amount of money will be highly appreciated, and nothing is too small. We also need text books, exercise books, computers, lap tops, note pads, school supplies and educational toys in good condition.
